Ghost
Whoopi Goldberg added humor to the 1990 classic movie “Ghost,” which starred Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore. In the film, the comedian played Oda Mae Brown, who should have delivered the line “He’s sayin’ you’re in danger.” Instead, she went off script and said, “Molly, you in danger, girl.”
That might be a tiny tweak, but it made a massive difference to the film. Goldberg won an Academy Award for this portrayal but did you know that director Jerry Zucker initially didn’t want to cast her? That is because he worried the comedian could affect how the audiences feel loss and heartbreak.
