Taxi Driver
The 1970s movie “Taxi Driver” showed Robert de Niro’s phenomenal talent. He played a troubled cabbie whose experiences shocked the audience. At the time, the actor was a rising star, but little did he know that his improvised line “You talkin’ to me?” would stick even to this day.
Director Martin Scorsese revealed that he had specially requested De Niro to make something up because there was no dialogue during that scene. Because it was the last week of production, there was already tension. The actor kept repeating this line to himself, and the team thought it fitted the sequence.
