The Shining
When “The Shining” came out in 1980, it was met with mixed reactions while critics were unforgiving in their reviews of the horror picture. It was based on acclaimed author Stephen King’s book of the same name, and he even slammed the production for deviating from the source material.
Despite getting a Razzie, “The Shining” has become a pop culture staple and is now considered one of the greatest horror movies. It also gave us the line, “Here’s Johnny!” delivered by Jack Nicholson’s Jack Torrance when he forced his face into a door. Yes, the actor ad-libbed dialogue even though it didn’t make any sense.
