As one of the most powerful people on Earth, Queen Elizabeth II needs security probably more than anyone else. While it is pretty obvious that she has people from the country’s special security looking after her at all times, she has a bunch of guards around her as well that escort her to public venues.
The Queen’s official bodyguards are provided by a state-run department known as the “Mounted Regiment of the Household Cavalry.” People around the world may guess from the name that the regiment is a section of the British Army. It was founded back in 1945 and has been tasked to perform ceremonial duties ever since.
