Explorer Henry Worsley’s Final Selfie
A British Army officer and explorer, Lieutenant Colonel Alstair Edward Henry took part in a successful Arctic expedition in 2009. In 2016, he wasn’t as lucky on his first solo attempt to cross the Arctic.
Worsley set out to set the record as the first man to achieve the feat of making it across the Antarctic on foot. 69 days into his mission, and having covered 913 miles, he radioed for help with just 30 miles to complete the trek. This is the last photo he ever took, a selfie in his tent.
