Denny Crum – $89 Million
Denny Crum, a Louisville legend who died in May 2023, left an indelible impact on the entire Louisville community. His credits include two championships, six appearances at the NCAA Final Four, and an induction into the Massachusetts-based Naismith Memorial’s Hall of Fame. Not just in Louisville, Denny was an authority figure in the world of sports, basketball especially, in the whole of Kentucky.
Nicknamed “Cool Hand Luke,” he enjoyed a relatively shorter playing career. Denny started coaching in 1959 and spent three decades of his illustrious coaching career with the Louisville Cardinals, leading them to many successes. He has left behind a total fortune of $89 million.
