Being the owners of the Daily Telegraph Newspaper, the Barclay Brothers are no strangers to controversy and rebellion. This is precisely what their ownership of the Brecqhou island in the English Channel has caused.
The island falls under the stewardship of the Island of Sark, and as such, has to abide by its laws. But the brothers Barclay are striving to make the island independent, and as such, are rebelliously driving cars and flying in with a helicopter, both against the law by Sark statute. The dispute over the island is ongoing.
