Celebs Who Have Private Islands: Just How Much Does One Need In Order To Purshase Their Own Piece of Heaven?

Larry Ellison – Lanai, $300 Million

Billionaire Larry Ellison, best known for co-founding the Oracle Corporation, bought the Lanai Island in Hawaii for $300 million in 2012. It’s known as the Pineapple Island because it was previously a pineapple plantation. It boasts three hotels and two golf courses.

It’s the smallest inhabited island in Hawaii, and the main town, called Lanai City, is apparently so small it doesn’t have a single traffic light. Despite the economic effect COVID-19 had on the economy of the island, Ellison continues to pay salaries to all staff working the island. It is also currently Coronavirus free, so it must be a nice place to be at the moment.
