Jiri Smejc – Velaa Island, Estimated Over $200 Million

Before we get started, we want you to know, Jiri Smejc’s resort on Velaa Island in the Maldives has a snow room. That’s impressive considering the Maldives doesn’t have a winter, nevermind snow. We don’t know what the island cost the Czech businessman, but we do know his developments set him back $200 million to build the 43 villas, restaurants, private spa and tennis court.

He also built five private four-room residences with their own infinity pools, gyms, and spa rooms, and, for the hopeless romantic, there’s a pool residence you can only reach by boat. On top of all that luxury, the resort also has the biggest Champagne selection in the Maldives.
