They may have been divorced for nine years, but in 2007, the Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee still felt the need to buy his ex-wife, Pamela Anderson, an Island. His reason? So that he and the former Baywatch star could spend some quality time with their children. The Island? Greece.

But not an actual Greek island. Instead, this “Greece” formed part of a planned man-made archipelago off the coast of Dubai shaped like a world map and aptly called The World Island Project. There is no confirmation that the transaction for the island happened, as development on the project stalled in 2008 due to a worldwide recession.
