Before being picked up by the French sailors, Abby had been drifting for a night and a half day which was not enough time to cause permanent damage to the young lady. The French vessel had just gotten to Abby in the nick of time, saving her from dehydration and other ocean-related problems.

This situation meant that the young lady only had to deal with a few mental and physical exhaustion, mainly brought about by her incredible voyage. Even so, as much as Abby had been found relatively safe, the story was far from over.
