50 Times TV Anchors Made Hilarious Bloopers On Air

A New Kind Of News Transparency

Perhaps meteorologist Liberte Chan took a different lesson on news transparency. How else should we explain her habit of wearing dresses that blend a little too much with the screen? One time, Liberte almost turned invisible because her green dress looked too much like the green screen. A colleague even had to offer his jacket to save the day.

We appreciate transparency in the news media, but only on news items, please. And we bet the producers will agree, because Liberte changed into something more appropriate the next time she appeared on TV. We hope that she’s learned her lesson.

Hitting Rock Bottom

When ‘BBC’ reporter Mike Bushell was tasked with interviewing the English swimmers who had recently won the Commonwealth Games, it was a chance of a lifetime. So the anchor decided to do things a different way, going to the working place of the swimmers, and he took it a step further, jumping into the swimming pool.

The move backfired, though, as Bushell only managed to do the intro and say the word “congratulations” before slipping down the pool, drowning with everything, including the microphone. Sadly the interview had to be cut short, and the anchor didn’t even get to return it to the studio. Painful!

Coincidence?

Imagine doing the news about a suspect; then, when the sketch of the said person comes up, you look shockingly alike. That is what happened to ‘ABC 7’s anchor Marc Brown, who was presenting the news one night in the ’90s when the incident occurred.

Of course, it was just a case of pure coincidence; Brown had nothing to do with the said outlaw activities the sketched person was involved with. Still, that didn’t stop people from noticing their uncanny resemblance, with the photo becoming one of the funniest journalist snaps ever taken. To date, the image still makes rounds on social media, and it’s a highly rated meme.
