Most people don’t view local news as worth their time, with some taking it as passive entertainment. ‘KFMB’ network proved that concept correct when a bird came visiting while a news segment was being aired, with Nichelle Medina and her co-host Eric Kahnert doing their anchoring duties.

The bird, a scarlet ibis called Sophie, flew into the set and calmly perched on Medina’s head before taking off to say hi to Eric, who was not so receptive to its interaction. Finally, the animal trainer took control of the situation, and everything was back to normalcy. Ironically, all that happened when the two journalists were reporting the new addition to the San Diego zoo.
