Great Dane
Despite the name, the Great Dane didn’t come from Denmark but rather Germany. Some believe that this breed was a result of the English Mastiff and Irish Wolfhound mix. They were once used as hunters, probably due to their agility, aggressiveness, and power.
Their gigantic stance is a scene-stealer because they can reach up to 32 inches and weigh up to 175 pounds! Today, Great Danes have become more calm and gentle, which means they are perfect for a household setting. Perhaps, the most popular dog of this breed is Scooby Doo, which may have stemmed from the belief that this canine could ward off spirits.
