Dachshund
Dachshunds are also extremely famous in the United States, ranking 10th as the most popular breed in the country. However, it was first noted in Germany where the creature was developed to hunt badgers; hence its name’s translation: “badger dog.” They are elongated but vertically challenged in order to fit into badger dens.
Despite its size, a lot of people are fascinated with the breed, perhaps due to its charming attitude. Artist Andy Warhol used to bring his doxie to his interviews and asked the dog to answer questions he wasn’t comfortable with. David Hockney’s two Dachshunds were also the subject of 45 paintings.
