A Sugar-Laden Deception
We’ve come a long way in terms of information. It’s now common knowledge that excessive consumption of sugary treats will not only rack up your bill at the dentist but potentially serve as the gateway to multiple medical problems. It’s preposterous to table the idea that kids need energy from candy.
Once again, women were dragged into the marketing strategy and insulted for not feeding their children the cellophane-wrapped sugar-laden treats. For a better perspective, the American Heart Association places the recommended daily sugar consumption for children at 25 grams (6 teaspoons). As for carbonated and sugary drinks, their daily intake shouldn’t exceed eight ounces.
