It wasn’t enough that women of the past decades were expected to settle down by a certain age; they were supposedly also meant to go into their marriages equipped with several skills. Going by this promotional poster, the stereotypical route to a man’s heart is by stuffing him up full of donuts.

Then there’s the ball and chain the woman is concealing behind her back to reference the term men used back then when they felt trapped in relationships/marriages. Except for sparking interesting news features about women who successfully lured their way to the altar using donuts, the company would be knee-deep in lawsuits if this leaflet circulated today.
