Beauty Comes at a Price

The never-ending quest for youth was as rampant as ever back in the day. Even with all the other unattainable expectations, women were still required to look perfect. All manner of contraptions and beauty-enhancing products existed to lend a helping hand. The chin reducer was one such “Frankenstein-like” device that we imagine flew off the shelves at the time.

The tool of torture supposedly had a hand in reducing enlarged glands which in turn got rid of the double chin effect. Women had to wear the contraption for hours on end to achieve the desired results. Essentially, this is what the “no pain, no gain” mantra means.
