Marriages Are Made in the Kitchen

Vintage ads must have been conceptualized by one marketing executive. It’s hard to wrap our heads around a team of ad managers approving these sales pitches but they were a reality.  Newlyweds were targeted with this advert which advised couples that marriages are made in the kitchen.

It shows a woman, still donning her wedding dress, tending to a hot stove as her husband keeps a watchful eye. The product in question is an ovenproof dish that is described as the “mistress.” Perhaps they got it as a gift and she just couldn’t wait past their big day to put it into good use.
