You’ve probably heard that you can’t drink your problems away but some flitting happiness is found at the bottom of a liquor bottle. That in essence is what this wine advertisement is promoting. The pictured woman is used as a case study and according to her account, the boozy beverage lifted her depression.

The woman’s narrative explains that just one bottle boosted her energy and helped her get over the blues. She gives the trusted drink her stamp of approval and says going forward, she’ll always lift a bottle of the good old portion to lift her spirits up. We imagine that getting sloshed was a foreign concept at the time, but the take-home message was that a bottle of wine can chase your troubles away.
