Waldo seems to have moved from the other man’s chest area to this woman’s ear. People are clearly fascinated by Wally, as he is known across the pond. He is also known as Willie in Afrikaans, Charlie in French, and Ubaldo in Italy. As of 2007, the book had sold over 70 million copies worldwide and had been translated into over 26 languages.
In the series of puzzles, Wally becomes increasingly harder to find as they gain more characters, and Waldo becomes smaller and smaller. The popularity of these literary works and Wally’s fame is a testament to people’s fascination with visual search.
