Sir Ian McKellen – Burnley, 82

Sir Ian McKellen is a British Cultural Icon with considerable experience enacting Shakespearean Plays earlier on in his career – King Lear, Macbeth, The Tempest, and The Seagull to name but a few. Even at 82, theatre beckons him with a titular role in Hamlet.

Having won several prestigious awards, McKellen thrived on acting in movies and considered the pandemic-induced lockdown in 2020 as enforced retirement. Hence, he chose to work in Infinitum, which was shot on the phone. Of all the characters Sir Ian has portrayed on screen, the role of Gandalf in the hit series The Lord of the Rings will remain our favorite!
